Personal Statement
*Note - I had to sit out all of the first half and 3 games into the second half of the basketball season because Lhsaa ruled me ineligible to play because of a transfer rule. A federal court decision made me eligible in January 2023.
I’m a combo guard and I played in the state championship as a sophomore for Liberty Magnet. I transferred to Ponchatoula High my junior year and couldn’t play for the 1st 21 games but played the reminder of the season and was an integral part in winning a state championship for the first time in school history. My senior year I averaged 14.2 points per game and led the team in scoring in the semi-final and championship game to win another state championship for the 2nd time in school history. My field goal percentage for the season was 54.8%. I scored 24 points, 8 rebounds. 3 blocks, and 2 assist in the championship game. My team finished the season 30-4.
I’m a really good student & athlete. Both of my parents have stressed academics since I was a toddler. Although I’ve always been an exceptional athlete, they let me know that if I wanted to get to the next level it would take discipline, hard work, and commitment, no matter how much talent I have. I’ve embraced the challenge and would like the opportunity to showcase my talent at tournaments, circuits, college camps, private workouts, etc. I’m confident in my ability. My mom played basketball in college and was an All-American. I can’t let her out do me.
