Personal Statement
I am Dawda from The Gambia, growing up, there were few players that made it to College in the US and all of them were mostly 6’7+ athletes, making it difficult for 6’3 kids like me to have the belief that we can be recruited to play at a big stage like college basketball in the US due to our sizes.
I am here to change that mindset. Aside from basketball, I am an open minded person who is willing to take in new ideas. I am optimistic about the future and the opportunities it will create for me. With that, it allows me to always think positive and believe that I can be the change I want to see.
I wish to study architecture in college and use my basketball skills in acquiring a scholarship to achieve this academic goal.
The reason why I am different from most recruits in character is because I am doing this for a change. I want to be an example of hard work and always trusting the process.
