Personal Statement

To be a good candidate for a team, I would need to be responsible, patient, brave, a good listener, have good leadership skills, be a team player and have knowledge on and off the court. Off the court I am responsible, provide leadership, and maintain good grades in school. I'm a Student Ambassador and a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. I help others achieve their goals academically by tutoring them. The requirments of a Student Ambassador is to have good grades and exemplory behavior, which are vital to maintaining that title. I have always maintained at least a B average and my behavior towards others is always kind. On the court, I am responsible for playing defense as well as offense and know that at times there will be areas of opportunities for me to learn from. Being the captain of the varsity team, I make sure that everyone knows what they are supposed to do in certain situations. I talk constantly in the game and try to help out my teammates. I show my knowledge when I can figure out who can shoot or drive on the other team, figure out their weaknesses in their offense and holes in their defense to help my team win. Bravery is not being scared or giving up when the other team is bigger than me. I showed my bravery when I first got to high school, my freshman year on JV. My team was not prepared for the height and build of the other team. As we played them everyone, except for me, was nervous and started to give up when we were losing by twenty points. I kept on going for the whole game, even though we lost, my coach was proud of me and the other team was amazed at how long I kept on playing. At the end of the game, my varsity coach came to me and asked me to play for the varsity team.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
