Personal Statement
My name is James Hughes I'm 6'5" and I weigh approximately 210lbs. I was named for the 2010 All Area Second Team and 2010 All Conference Second Team. I recently transferred to Walkersville High School from St. Johns Catholic Prep. The administraton at St. John's decided to take their program to a less competitive league and I felt that was not the right move for me. I thrive on pushing myself to the limit and being the best player I can be and playing against the best players around. I feel this will improve my game and make me a stronger player. I'm a player who has a strong desire to compete at the collegiate level and I'm looking for an institution that will guide me both academically and athletically. I currently have a weighted GPA of 4.18 with a class rank of 39. I'm a member of the Architecture Construction and Engineering (ACE) Mentor program at Bechtel in Frederick, MD. I'm also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. I will graduate in the Spring of 2011. As a dedicated athlete and student, my desire is to have an opportunity to thrive, contribute, and grow in all facets of collegiate life.
