Personal Statement
Basketball is such a unique sport in so many different ways for me. Growing up it was a shared love with football but as I grew to understand the importance of the game, it had a special place in my heart. I started playing aau my first season with Premier Hoops in 3rd grade, I transferred to NSSA for my 5th and 6th seasons. I followed my coach Tony Gallo and still go to Skills 2-3 times a week along with private sessions when I have the chance.
I am 16 year old 6’0 165 lb PG who is able to see the court and direct the offense of the team. I would say my best skill is making the right decision off of ball screens. Wether that would be a slight hesi and finishing, dishing it off to the center, or driving to force the help and passing to the corner. Before last season I was a strong offensive shooter and decent finisher, after stepping up and making the JV team as a freshman in a D1 Catholic Conference, I was able to stretch my skills. I had great coaches who pushed me to help my team in different ways. Though I wasn’t the biggest scorer on my school team, I was still able to help the team in other situations. For example, taking charges in big moments as well making the right decisions in crunch time. During the past spring aau season, I believe I put it all together while making passes, taking charges and boxing out, and being to shoot off the dribble, off the catch, and score at the rim.
I attend St. John’s Prep in Danvers MA as a rising sophomore, where I attended 3 honors classes and 2 accelerated. I ended the year with the honor roll where I only ended one class with a B. I plan to be elected in Algebra 2 Honors, World History Honors, and German 3 Honors. As of freshman year I maintained a 4.15 GPA. As a sophomore attended three honors classes and two accelerated ending the year with all B+ and A’s, I finished my sophomore year with a 4.06 GPA.
