Personal Statement
My name is Kyree LaPlanche and I am a student athlete at Holbrook Junior Senior High School. I have just completed my junior year and this coming fall I will be entering my senior year. As a student I work on strengthening my academics through extra help, tutoring, and studying. I continue to set high goals for myself so that i can be the best student possible. I am heavily involved with my church and doing projects such as feeding the homeless and offering support to local shelters. My goal in my junior year is to get high honors. I continue to challenge myself not only on the court but off the court. I want to construct myself to be a very hard working student in the class room but on the court as well. This year I had the privilege to lead my team as a starting point guard where I scored 1,000 points as well as being a two-time Massachusetts All-Scholastics Boys Basketball and getting the Comprehensive Division Player of the Year. What makes me special is I have a natural athletic ability where I don't have enough size but I make up for it by speed and IQ. Nobody is going to outwork me from the beginning to end. Although I am young, I continue to push my teammates and improve to get better on and off the court. I love to motivate myself because it gives self esteem which gives me confidence. What differs me from other players is I love to compete and have a desire to win. I push myself to work because i know there is always room for improvement.
