Personal Statement
I've been playing basketball since I was four. At a young age I fell in love with the game, but once I got to a higher level I was cut from my local suburban, and middle school team every year I tried out. I used these experience as a way of motivation. Within the past few years I have been fully dedicated to the sport. My defense is one of my greatest strengths, as well as, blocking shots, rebounding, low post finishing, my basketball IQ is very high and I’m very coachable. Lately my focus has been on
developing and improving my jump shot and ball handling.
Off the court I have been working to be a much better student and greatly improve my GPA. I have also volunteered at a local food bank. This winter I am planning on coaching a youth basketball team.
What I am trying to get out of a college is to be able to go to a program that appeals to my interest but at the same time play at the highest level of competition as possible. A life long goal of mine is to be a good role model and have people look up to me. I as well want to achieve the goals that my family and coaches have set for me as a person. I have always dreamed to pursue a career in sports analysing and management.
