Shooting Guard
I was introduced to a basketball court at the early age of 3. I played in a rec league in my hometown of Thompson, Connecticut. I could not get enough, even though I tried other sports including skiing, soccer and baseball, nothing “stuck” like basketball. Everyone said I was a natural, in elementary school. In fourth grade, my grandparents attended one of my away games for CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) basketball and they said they would pay me $1.00 a point. They lived out of state and had heard I was a decent player but never expected what they saw. I was the shortest on the team but I was a hungry point guard! I had 5 steals, I was 7 out of 8 from the 3 point line, several drives to the basket and layups and made every foul shot.I had scored 27 points in total in that fourth grade game. I guess you can say that game changed my life. I had had similar games throughout first, second and third grades but that specific game was when many members of my family and coaching staff knew I was something special.
That trend continued through my elementary and into my middle school basketball career, I was also playing AAU every season except Winter when school ball was in session. I am lucky enough to have a mom and dad committed to helping me succeed and I was fortunate to attend Elon University basketball camp and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for three years and was signed up for more until COVID 19 canceled the following two years. By the time COVID was over, I was involved in four summer leagues and AAU travel ball. One of my summer 2022 games was a huge success, I had 43 points, my coaches were so excited to see this level of play from me. My coach has mandated that our school team play AAU and summer leagues and school ball all together! Many of us also weight and skill/agility train together and I add several of my own personal training in my spare time as well.
If I am not walking or riding my bike to the basketball courts to play basketball I am watching basketball every chance I get. I work hard academically., I have always maintained high grades and am currently on the Honor Roll but basketball has always been what drives me. In my freshman year, I made the Junior Varsity basketball team at DY Regional High School on Cape Cod where we had relocated during COVID. I averaged 16 points per game and 1 steal per game at my new school but COVID had a lasting effect with absences and missing games.
My dream is to play college basketball for a D-1 College. I can promise you I am driven, have a desire to get better and have a strong mind, My coaches will tell you I have a true sense of awareness about the game and can visualize where most kids struggle. I am coachable and I demonstrate exceptional sportsmanship. It would be an honor to play college basketball at the D1 Level. I am confident that when you meet me and see me play, you will see how I am focused, engaged and ready for the next level!
