I first remember picking up a basketball, when I was about four years old. I remember grabbing the ball out of my Dad's bag and dribbling in my living room and having my Mom yell at my Dad for me to stop! At first, I just played basketball because it was fun, but it didn't take long for me to fall in love with the game and play on as many competitive teams as I could from 3rd grade on. I also wondered if I would be able to play at the college level. As I've seen some of the older kids in my town make it to the next level, I now know it's something I am capable of as well. I have strong ball handling skills, enjoy playing defense, and as much as I love to shoot the ball, I equally enjoy sharing the ball and getting my teammates an open shot too. I pride myself as being am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players for any team I am a part of.
Off the court, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I enjoy photography in my spare time and as a lot of basketball players, I am an avid "sneaker head". I also volunteer in our youth basketball association to try to give back to the program I came up through.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the basketball court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all peers and make my parents proud.
