My name is Blake Charboneau and I am a 6’5”, 200lb. junior at Gaylord High School. From a young age I have always been athletic and have enjoyed playing and watching a variety of sports, including baseball, football and basketball. Over the last few years, basketball has become my true passion and what I want to pursue at the college level.
As a freshman in high school, I made the Varsity basketball team and worked hard to be a contributing factor to our team’s success. As a sophomore, I was named one of the team captains, allowing me to continually improve my leadership skills. I am a shooting guard although during the course of the season I have played and defended all five positions. I am a versatile player who works extremely hard to improve my game.
During the spring and summer, I play AAU basketball for Championship Sports Gold out of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. This team travels throughout the mid-west and competes at a high level with some of the top teams in the AAU circuit.
Receiving a quality education is also very important to me. My academic goals in high school are to maintain a GPA that will keep me qualified to be a member of the National Honor Society. I hope to attend a college that will offer challenging academic courses in my field of interest, along with the opportunity to play basketball. Playing basketball at the college level has always been an aspiration for me and I continue to work hard toward this goal each and every day both on and off the court.
