My goal, for as long as I can remember, has been to play basketball at the highest level I can. I believe that I will accomplish that goal because of how hard I have worked and how much love I have for the sport. However, many details in my life have helped me grow closer to this goal. I have been raised in the Christian faith and have a strong faith through Christianity. Therefore, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," as it is written in Philippians 4:13. I have two younger siblings that have looked up to me on and off the court. I find myself helping lead most basketball teams I am on. I have enjoyed leading on and off the court in my life, I consider it a great opportunity to make myself and people around me better.
My parents grew up in Indiana. Everyone played basketball in Indiana at that time, including my father who was good enough to play in college. Hearing about my father's basketball experiences in high school and college inspired me to chase those same experiences. Once I started playing I knew I would never stop. I had an instant love for the sport. Basketball has helped me in many ways. It has made me a great leader and taught me that through hard work anything can be achieved. It has taught me how to handle adversity whether it be on the court or otherwise.
My classroom goals are set very high as well. I know that hard work pays off in school so I always strive for a 4.0 GPA, and try to be involved in extracurricular activities. My parents have high expectations for me also because they know I have what it takes to succeeded in college and possibly post-graduate school.
I work on all aspects of my game every day during basketball season, always looking to improve in my weaker areas. I work almost, if not every day in the off-season. My personal trainer and travel team coach, Gregg McMath, helps me understand and improve all aspects of my game. I work with him frequently during the off-season and he helps me get better every time. Like I said, I am willing to buy into a program and will be grateful to have the opportunity to play at the next Level.
