My name is Braeden Justin, and I am a junior starting small forward on an elite team who has made it to the Minnesota State High School League basketball tournament and placed the last 2 years. As a student athlete, I like to set high goals for myself. I would like to study business during college. I love the game of basketball and playing it at any collegiate level would be an amazing opportunity. I have been playing basketball competitively since I was 9. I am a competitive SG/SF with a high basketball IQ, excellent defensive skills, and good shooting skills. I am a team player who has the ability to lead teammates as I create open shots for myself and assist others which allows me to execute multiple roles on both ends of the court. This summer I was lucky enough to be invited on a Passion with a Purpose mission trip to Africa, where we educated kids on the game of basketball through the Celebration Church in Mokopane, South Africa while helping to upgrade a orphanage in a nearby town. It was amazing to share the love of the game that I have with these children that had never experienced the game. During this trip I was forced to step up and be a leader when teaching the kids about all the aspects of basketball and instilling the drive to do their best even on the basic drills. I feel I am a natural leader, but this experience has effected me by making me a better, more conscientious leader. I feel like this can set me apart from other players. Another major attribute that I feel I have that sets me apart from others is my work ethic. I'm always focusing on getting better both on and off the court. I am a student athlete. Student first, athlete second.
