Personal Statement

I am a three sport varsity athlete and IB Diploma Candidate.  The other sports I play are soccer, football and I am a competitive track runner.  I run the 400 in just over 52 seconds and am the anchor on the 4 by 400 Southwest Varsity Track and Field team. I am a lefty combo guard who plays great defense.  My goal is to play basketball in college at a school that will challenge me athletically and academically.

After scoring only three points in the first period, the guard got hot in the 2nd, as he made four triples. Whenever his team needed a big shot, Gregerson was there to knock it down. • The Recruiting Insiders-Player Evaluation
  • 7/15/20 to 8/14/20
  • Recommended level of play (in our coach’s opinions): low division 2/high division 3 Player Evaluation: Strengths: Combo guard with a variety of skills on the floor. Plays with his head up in transition, making plays for himself and his teammates. Capable shooter with good range. Has the ability to stretch the floor off the catch in the half court or transition. Plays the game with good pace, under control especially in the paint playing off two feet. Confident ball handler that can beat people off the bounce, especially after using fakes to lift defenders. Unselfish player that will turn down good shots for himself to get great shots for his team. Makes an impact defensively with good instincts and length, oftentimes getting his hands in passing lanes and disrupting offense. Things to work on: Must continue to develop his body and add strength to his frame so that the transition to the next level will be a rapid one. Continue to find bigger, stronger players to test yourself against, especially on the defensive end. One of the hardest changes that incoming freshman players endure is the speed of the game on the defensive end so the quicker you can get adjusted to the speed of the college game, the more success you will have the chance to attain! Continue to work hard and get hundreds of reps of your jump shot each day!

Sincerely, The High School Basketball All-American Showcase Staff PLAYER EVALUATION: Andrew Gregerson Small College with improvement A kid who moves well all the time without the ball. Apply himself by going to boards and getting rebounds. Stays after loose balls. Making sharp passes in the open. A player who gets out in transition. He moves well without ball on offense. Must be more assertive on offense. Bring the ball up court to help with improve handles against pressure. Look to attack when touching the ball in some cases. Be more aggressive. Work on court awareness.
