Personal Statement

Hello Coaches,

My name is Jonathan Hughes; most people call me John, Hughes, and J. I like to workout almost everyday, help other people, watch basketball, watch basketball highlights, do my homework/classwork, read articles about things that are happening in this world/ articles about basketball players, watch wrestling (WWE, WWE NXT, AEW, IMPACT WRESTLING, and Ring of Honor), watch boxing, watch baseball,  and watch UFC. My favorite basketball player is LeBron James. I watched him play since I was 4 or 5 years old. I live with mom and I am the only child in the house. Due to all of this Covid,  I had decided to do virtual for my school this year. Before all this Covid happen, almost every morning before school and sometimes after school my Sophomore and Junior year I was in one of my teachers classroom because sometimes I didn't understand the lesson and when I stay after school, I understand the lesson more and when I get to school early, sometimes I ask one of my teachers can they go back over lesson, most of the time I go in their classroom to talk to them about school, life and etc. I want to be the best student I can be.

I love the game of basketball. I eat, sleep, cry, and bleed for the game. Basketball is one of the main things that keeps me going everyday when I wake up in the morning. I'm always the first guy in practice and the last guy to leave because I want to be great. On the weekends, I get early in the morning at 9:30 to go to the gym and I stay their till it close and when I get home, I do more ab workouts, and push ups. I play point guard when play the game of basketball, but I know in my heart I can play every position. When I get on the court, I give it everything I got like its no tomorrow. I know I am best the candidate because I am going to out everyone in the weight room, on the track, in the film room, in the classroom, in practice, in the game, and etc. Whatever you want me to do, I going to do it with everything I got. My goal is to go the NBA and be the one of the greatest of all time, I want to be in the conversation with Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James, give back to the community, build a school, and build a family. I put on my wall a piece of paper with Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James name on it including my name as the fourth guy ad I look at it everyday. I willing to do anything to achieve my goals. My favorite quotes are ''I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'' Philippians 4:13, ''I'll do whatever it takes to win game, whether it's sitting on a bench waving a towel, handing a cup of water to a teammate, or hitting the game winning shot.'' Kobe Bryant, ''I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.'' Michael Jordan, ''Being the only man in the household with my mom definitely helped me grow up fast.'' LeBron James
