Personal Statement
I believe I would be the best candidate for a college team due to my high level of commitment in every aspect of my life. In my personal life nothing is more important to me than the character in which I live my life. Honesty and integrity are characteristics many use to describe me and this comes from my desire to bring my God honor in all that I do. This commitment carries over into the classroom which I strive to be one the best students in my class. In an America that has settled for mediocre living, I strive to excel at all I do. Finally, how can I really share from my heart the value of basketball in my life? I can still remember Upward Basketball and how being on the court was like being at home. It felt right even at that young age. As I moved through city leagues, school teams, and AAU, one thing became clear... basketball is part of my life and will always be part of my life. It is my desire to finish out my last two years of high school by helping my team win championships and then move to a college play where I can make an impact on a team not only on the court but in the classroom and within the college community. When the day comes that I play my last game it is my plan to then transition into coaching so I can help young boys and girls realize the joy of playing a sport that is the heart of who you are. Basketball is and will always be my life!
