Personal Statement

I have more video's including HS video's, articles and achievements at www.RyanKleffer.com

I am in my 4th semester at West Ky Community and Technical College.  I am 6'3" and I my current weight am 200lbs.  I have gained at least 10lbs of muscle since high school.  My current GPA is 3.145.  I have had NO major injuries in my career and I do not miss practices, games or classes!  I am a dedicated player, team member and student.  I do what ever my coach asks of me and I play every position the coach puts me at 110%.

I chose to attend West Kentucky my first year because it was an independent school and I felt I needed the extra year to develop my skills.  According to NCAA I am still eligible for 3 years of playing.

I was voted All-State-Media and All-State-Coaches my Sr. year of HS and I reached 1,700 points at the end of third year of Varsity play. I was blessed to hit a history making 54 point game with a 35.5 tournament avg. Not realizing that had happened, all I was actually doing was playing ball and having fun.

I am listed as a shooting guard but have played Forward and the point as well.  I feel I have great passing skills and am able to get the ball up the court.   I like to push the ball up the count, some say I should have been a Point Guard but my teams have always wanted me more for a shooting guard most of the time.  That being said, I played forward a large part of the time at my current Jr. College.

I also played AAU Basketball for the Il Jets and St Louis Gateway.

Most of the videos listed on my HS blog with the exception of the last few (Jr. College) are mostly of my Jr. Season. I hope you have time to take a look at them.   Thank you for the time you took to read my profile.

  • Letter from Coach Potts The West Kentucky Community & Technical College (WKCTC) basketball program has been very blessed with the hard work, integrity, and enthusiasm that Ryan Kleffer, Richland High School’s (Essex, Missouri’s) All-State guard has exhibited over the past two years. Ryan came to WKCTC with an aggressive style of play and a knack to score the basketball. Ryan spent countless hours working on his game and in the weight room. As a result of his devotion in the weight room, we used the 6 foot 3 inch frame as a forward. Ryan was part of a sophomore class that went 44-12, the best record since the school reinstated the basketball program 8 years ago. Ryan averaged 10 points per game along with 6 rebounds, while shooting a 47% from the field. The thing I am most proud of as a coach is that even as a good of a basketball player Ryan was for us here at WKCTC, I’m proud the say he’s an even better person. His actions both on and off the court were impeccable. Ryan currently has a 3.2 GPA and is looking at four year universities to continue both his education and collegiate basketball career. It has been an absolute honor and pleasure to coach a student athlete like Ryan Kleffer. I know Ryan will succeed in whatever he plans on doing in the future. Thank you, Ryan, for allowing me to opportunity to coach you, but even more importantly, for allowing me to be a part of your life on and off the court. Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Daniel Potts
