Personal Statement
My collegiate aspiration is to play for a coaching staff that is dedicated to the sport and dedicated to making their players better competitors and better people. A coaching staff that will challenge me to become a better point guard and prepare me for the future. My goal is to be the starting point guard on the basketball team. I am a good candidate because I am unselfish and willing to share the ball. I am true to my team and understand what it means to play together for the betterment of the team. I am able to take positive or negative critique. I am different than other recruits because I have had the experiences of being Zachary Patterson. At my church, I have mostly been the only young person that goes on a weekly basis. I take up the offerings and do all the things that other young people are not there to help with at church. I am playful but I know when to get down to business. I am responsible and able to relate with others. I have been through the challenges of feeling that I am not good enough. Those challenges will never get me down, they make me work harder to meet my goal. I understand the importance of education and how it opens doors. I plan on opening my doors with the opportunity of a basketball scholarship and the ability of playing basketball, my love. Everything that I do, I do it to the best of my ability.
