Wayne Stevenson '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Wayne Stevenson. I am kind of a little guy, but im the kind of player that your team may be looking for. I just finished my sophomore year of basketball, and after playing JV and Varsity basketball, I feel I had a great year improving my basketball skills. But now I realize after getting significant playing time at the varsity level, I have realized that it is going to take more intense off-season training to step my game up to the next level. So now I participate in an active off-season training program, consisting of strength training and running in daily track practice, then 30 minutes-2 hours of ball handling and shooting when i get home. Fitting in time for homework and a life is hard, but I get it done.
Athletic Skills\Highlights:
5'10, 155 lbs. 6'2 wingspan, 4.75 40-time
Starting Halfback and Saftey\Cornerback on varsity football team, starting Tight End and Middle Linebacker on JV Football Team
Ran fall cross-country and was on 5th place state class C team
Starting Shooting Guard for varsity basketball team for part of season, Starting Point Guard for JV team for part of season
My coach would point out that I am one of the best defensive players on the team, and am routinely matched up against the other teams star point guard to force turnovers
Streaky mid-range shooter, often in my higher scoring games scoring the majority of my points on a hot streak of 6-10 points
Not afraid to take a bigger opponent to the hoop and draw a foul
Good dribbler and passer
Streaky 3-point shooter
I love playing intense and fast-paced. The majority of my points are scored on the fast break
