Personal Statement
Having to miss back-to-back basketball seasons isn't always the ideal situation, but during that time I grew the most not only as a person but as a player. I tore my right ACL on September 14, 2016 and then 367 days later I tore my other ACL. These injuries caused me to miss my favorite sport two seasons in a row. Playing in a small town I knew I missed out on a lot of playing time, although I learned a lot watching from the sidelines. I learned a lot about myself and my commitment.
My drive and commitment to get back out on the court and play basketball was what kept me going. A typical ACL recovery takes 6-9 months, and I was running track 5 1/2- 6 months after surgery. I also grew up a christian and I knew I could lean on God and that he was there for me through it all. He has a plan for me. I want to pursue college basketball because I have so much passion and love for the game.
