Personal Statement
Just completed my first year of college basketball at Oak Hills Christian College.
My goal is to play any form of collegiate basketball. Whether it be D1 or JUCO, I would be blessed to have an opportunity to play. I love all activities sports related, and I plan to major in kinesiology. I have played organized basketball since I was 5 years old. During these years, I have gained a vast amount of knowledge of the game. From basic fundamentals, to the importance of teamwork and how everyone has a role. I moved to Las Vegas from Hawaii my sophomore year in hopes of better basketball opportunity compared to the ones given on the small island of Maui. I learned almost immediately of the competition compared to the competition back in Hawaii. I want to prove not only to myself, but to my family back in Hawaii that anyone can make it. It doesn't matter if you live in Hawaii, if you work hard and play hard, it'll show. I have been given the opportunity to learn so much during my years playing, but I am eager and determined to learn more at the collegiate level. Basketball is the one thing I can go to as a way to distract myself from everything else. When I step on the court, everything outside of basketball leaves my mind, and I commit myself to strictly basketball. My teammates and coaches would describe me as: hardworking, intelligent, communicative, positive minded, trustworthy, and someone that's easy to get along with. I believe with these skills, I could be a real asset to any team that sees fit.
