Ian Smith '19 Recruiting Profile

I have been loving and playing organized basketball since 1^st grade. I started playing rec ball in 1^st grade and club ball in 4^th grade. I’ve participated in numerous other sports growing up, including baseball, soccer, cross country, track and field, and two years of high school varsity tennis. I am now using any off-season to strength train and work on my skills.

My best friends are some of my teammates, many of whom I have been playing alongside since I started organized basketball. I consider my team family, and that is something I love about basketball, the family it has created for me outside of my own family. Basketball has also taught me the importance of working together for a common goal and having trust in those working alongside you. I have learned to read a situation and know when I need to step up or take control to provide the leadership or inspiration that my team may need.

I am a good student and my ultimate goal is to obtain a quality education that will serve me well in life. In addition to that education, I would love to be able to continue to play basketball through college. I am looking for a college that will be a good fit for me academically as well as athletically
