Dear Coach,
My name is Yorgo Bouharb, born on 03/09/2001, i started my basketball career in my home country Lebanon when I was 10 years old.
in June 2016, I won the Lebanese schools basketball championship with Central Jounieh school, I was nominated as the MVP of the game. This game was a turning point in my life. My parents decided that I have to follow my academic and athletic dreams and sent me to join Texas christian school in Houston. I played with the junior varsity and varsity basketball teams, on the varsity front we ranked second on the state level. during this year I also played with the football varsity team and we won the state title and personally I got my first Athletic ring.
In august 2017 I moved to Las Vegas and joined Calvary Chapel Christian school in grade 10. During my sophomore year, I played for basketball junior varsity team on a conference level as was elected MVP of the year by my school athletic administration, the year after I played with the varsity team and was always a starter, I helped my team to reach the conference playoff. Due to Nevada NIAA rules for international student, I was discharged and forbidden to play any high school conference games within Nevada state. So I joined Calvary high school club team, we competed and won the 2018-2019 winter championship league Nevada.
My Athletic moto in life is "Never Give up" so I joined the AAU club "Hard2Guard" where I was also a starter and competed with them in different tournaments in different states. I'm very thankful for H2G because I gained lot of experience with them during the last 2 years. What I'm good in, is that I always communicate with my team mates, I always try to give the extra pass, I'm a good defensive player, I put the extra effort for my team to succeed and I'm a good rebounder. Offensively I'm a pain in the ass because I'm very difficult to be guarded and have a very good finishing.
My parents taught me to "treat people the way I like to be treated" by doing so, I'm very easy going person and always care about my entourage and help my friends on any front. As a matter of fact, during 2018-2019 school year, I was awarded 2 awards:
- The Gideon award
- The Service award
I'm a scientific A student and aiming to become a mechanical / robotics engineer. In 2018, I was awarded the award of excellence by representing the Nevada state at the National Academy of future scientist and technologist in Boston (In academic partnership with Washington Adventist University), for the same, I received a certificate of recognition from the Nevada state governor. Due to this accomplishment, I was invited to attend the Envision National youth forum engineering, in collaboration with George Mason university held at University of California Berkeley; I received the certificate of achievement which bestows honor and distinction in recognition of academic success and commitment to the field of engineering.
Hope the above can reflect my personality and character and wish to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Yorgo Bou Harb
