Personal Statement
I started playing basketball at 5 years old by taking part in community recreation programs and camps. I first joined a team in 4th grade and I have been hooked ever since. Basketball is my passion and I am always working to improve my skills.
During my freshman year of high school, I played varsity and got the opportunity to earn several minutes of playing time in key games. By my sophomore year I gained a starting position as a shooting guard. Our team had a dream season with a 16-2 record and making it to the Final Four in our division. It was a heartbreaking loss by 2 at the buzzer.
The 2016-17 season will have me taking over the point guard responsibilities. I look forward to stepping up in this leadership role and working hard with my teammates. Communication is key for success and I know the importance to listen to my coaches and teammates to help maintain team unity.
I have strong ball handling skills, am a good passer and maintain an overall awareness of the entire floor. I attended an AAU Select Tour Camp in Boston during the Summer of 2016 where the coaches commended me on being a reliable knockdown 3 point shooter and having a high IQ for the game.
My goals are to play at the collegiate level and work hard as a student athlete, on and off the court.
