Romero Hudson '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Romero Hudson. I live in Grants, New Mexico with my family. It’s a small community in the western part of our state. I am currently in tenth grade going to school at Grants High. My favorite subjects I enjoy in school are American history, English, and Physical Science. The school activities I’ve joined are baseball, soccer, track, choir, and basketball.

 Basketball has been my favorite sport since kindergarten. I started to watch college and NBA basketball, elite and professional players drove me to keep getting better. I started learning basic skills at age five playing for the Dominators in city league. I played city league for seven years, where I focused on dribbling skills and shooting technique with both hands. My seventh and eighth grade years I played basketball for Los Alamitos Middle School. Freshman I played mostly C-team. This season I played Junior-varsity and Varsity. High School changed my play style a lot from fast pace style to half court sets. Also, learned more about sportsmanship, learned to be a better leader, and a valuable teammate. The majority of my playing time was a varsity player.

During summer vacation, while not in school I joined AAU or a summer program. All the years I’ve been playing basketball my favorite coaches were Rick Madrid and Eddie Baca. My goals are getting a good education and a college degree in structural or civil engineering. The qualities I bring are being a trustworthy, dependable, and a hard working individual for the team. I will commit and work hard for any coach and team.
