Personal Statement
I always think of the quote “be different.” It means to be not be the same and gives me the motivation to separate myself from others. I consider myself different, I’m the hardest worker you can meet and won’t stop until I have completed my goals and then some. All my life I’ve been a underdog, and I’ve used my age as motivation to show I’m as good as if not better than those older than me. I aspire to play college basketball and use my education to help me get where I want in the future, so I can help benefit me, my family and community. I feel the rigors of high school and playing varsity basketball have prepared me for college basketball as well as college as a whole. I have been through and learned several things that can be used to my benefit on the court as well as off the court. Other than that, I have also volunteered at an non-profit organization and tutor elementary school children on my free time.
