Personal Statement
Allow me to introduce myself. I am a 16 yr. old sophomore at Lyme Central School in Chaumont, NY. Chaumont is a small village located on Lake Ontario in Upstate NY. I come from a strong basketball family. My father, also the Varsity Coach at my school, had a very successful high school career. His team went to the NY State Championship Finals. He went on to play college basketball at a local Community College, having much success there as well. I have two older brothers who were also leaders on their high school teams, both going on to play college basketball.
I started playing basketball in the 3rd grade. I attended my first basketball camp at age 4. I continued to play on our communities youth teams until the 6th grade. I played on the JV team in 7th grade and was moved to Varsity as an 8th grader last year. I was the leading scorer on our team averaging 16.2 PPG. I lead in all other stats except rebounding. In rebounding, I had the second most for our team. I was the second leading scorer in the league and was named a Frontier League All- Star. I also strive to be a strong academic leader, I currently have a 95% GPA.
I am greatly motivated to continue working hard to secure a successful high school career, as a student athlete. It is my hope that I will also be able to play at the collegiate level.
Basketball is my passion, it has taught me to be disciplined, determined, and dedicated to obtaining my goals.
