I am a very well-rounded person who has a big support / family system. I am lucky enough to have Sunday dinners with my Nana and Uncles and Aunts; my uncles play basketball and enjoy not only watching me play but adding their suggestions and tips. I have strength in numbers- my siblings are always looking forward to my games and of course my parents are the loudest on the benches. I believe that I need to work for what I want, and I will enjoy the outcome and rewards; whether I am in the classroom, the court or just with my friends- I will always treat people with kindness and respect; the world needs more of that. I have been through alot at my age; I have lost a sister to diabetes, have a sister who was born with Down Syndrome and needed open heart surgery before she turned 6 months old, and have sat in a hospital room with my older brother while he went thorugh chemo/ fought cancer and won! I am only saying this to let you know I am stronger than many- what was meant to possibly break us as a family only made us stronger and has given me a perspective on life most people my age do not have.
My goal is to play basketball as long as I can and to build my future while I am doing that. Basketball is not just a game- it is a way of life for me.
