My name is Anthony Ficarrotta(2026) and I am a Sophomore at Dobbs Ferry High School in New York. I am beginning my recruitment process and am excited to share information that I feel is important for coaches to know. I am a multi-sport athlete. I have played Basketball, Baseball, Lacrosse and Soccer through the years. Currently I am playing Basketball and Baseball. I played Junior Varsity Basketball and Baseball as an 8th Grader and was a starting player on both teams. I made Varsity Basketball for the 2022-2023 season as a Freshman and after not getting much playing time to start the season I worked hard and became the starting shooting guard by the end of the year. I also made the Varsity baseball team as a Freshman for the spring season. In baseball last year I was voted Junior Varsity Player of the Year for my school on Max Preps where I pitched and played infield.
I feel that I am a good candidate as a college athlete in the future due to my work ethic, drive and passion. Whether it is in the classroom or on the sports field I always give 100% and always wish to succeed. I feel that I have improved every year that I have played and have taken the opportunity to challenge myself by playing in Varsity Summer & Fall Leagues as well as playing with adults at gyms and parks in the area, This has helped me be more comfortable with different styles, player sizes and athletic abilities.
I am a complete basketball player with many strengths. Despite being high scorer in many games, I value team play, defense and rebounding. I feel that making other players around you better is a vital part of being a good player. I also adapt well to different teams. I have played all 5 positions on the court at times due to my combination of height and ball handling ability. I pride myself on creating mismatches in different ways wherever I play on the court. My hope in the next year is to be able to go to some camps and showcases where I can show what I can do against high level competition.
My goal is to play College Basketball as a way to help me get a college education. I am still deciding what I would like to do in my future but feel that basketball can help me to open doors that will help me later in life.
