In all sports that I participate in, my coaches consider me to be a leader and competitor. This is made apparent by being selected to be the only Junior captain of my soccer team in the 2023 season. As soccer is my secondary sport, I was not given this role due to being more talented than my teammates, but rather because my coach believed that I could lead my team even without the added benefit of seniority.
When playing basketball, I also challenge myself by guarding the opposing team's best player every time the matchup is position friendly and would not unbalance Dryden's team defense. This being said, when it is best for me to play more off ball defense and offer more help side coverage, I accept the role without question and do whatever I can do help my team.
