Hello, my name is Dylan Botier, and I'm a basketball player and I attend Forest Hills High School, part of the class of 2023. One of my collegiate goals are to play a high level of college basketball, and maybe make it to the NBA one day. My other collegiate goals is to also get a degree in mechanical engineering. I want to try and keep this short, but still long enough where you get to know about me, so let me just jump right in. My main playing position is shooting guard, and my secondary playing position is the point guard. I am a quick learner, a big-time hustle player, and an athletic player; speed, quickness/acceleration, jumping ability, and a decent build for my stature.
What makes me different from other recruits in my same graduating class is my character, more specifically my ability to make my teammates come together to play as a unit rather than individuals on the court. Another characteristic of mine is that I will do whatever it takes to win, no matter if I'm a starter, or a bench player with 2 minutes, I will do whatever and play however it takes to win. I'm a huge team player so I'll do whatever is best for the team and not myself. I'm also different from other athletes in my class because of how big of a gym rat I am. My strong suits of my play in basketball are my lights-out shooting, ability to drive and finish around the basket creatively and consistently, and lockdown perimeter defense.
Academically, I love science a lot. English and mathematics aren't really my best subjects but they are still pretty decent nevertheless. In recent years, history and social studies have also started to grow on me greatly, and I have started to do better in classes such as those. Language-wise, I have taken Spanish and Japanese (Spanish in middle school, Japanese in high school), and I have done pretty well in both. I was able to grasp the concepts of both languages decently.
