Personal Statement

My name is Lorenzo Laine, I’m a PG playing at Hoosac School in New York. And I want to okay in College.

I‘ve been playing basketball for 9years and had the opportunity to play at the highest level with international experiences.

I was formed in France by a coach who trained Tony Parker/ Joakim Noah and many others great player before they went on to high level.
At the age of 13, I was given the opportunity to go play in Serbia for a year where I was formed. After that year, I had the opportunity to integrate the National Basketball Program of Serbia in Belgrade and, potentially, be a part of the National Team. But dreaming about the USA, I declined to take my game to Sunrise Christian Academy.

I however, got hit during practice and had a concussion leaving me off the court for a year. I came back, played as a freshman and sophomore there but decided to go to a smaller high school, where I could play more and still compete against Top Ranked team in the US to get better. I just finished my junior year at Hoosac competing against Springfield Commonwealth Academy/Woodstock Academy/ Redemption Christian and many others. As of my Senior Year about to start I want to take my game to the next level.

I’m a vocal leader, I push my teammates to go above their limits whether it is on or off the court. I’m a straight up lockdown defender, I will be guarding the best player of the other team. Discipline is what defines me the best as a player. I listen and act upon what the coaches want me to do.

I can pull up of dribble and of catch and shoot without trouble. I’m good to take screens and read the defense.
