My Name is Wilton Gomez and I am a senior at the High School of Arts and Technology and a member of the MLK Knight. Ever since I could remember what brought me the most joy in life was playing basketball. At a young age I made it a goal of mine to play at basketball at the highest level, as a professional in the United States or abroad. Playing at the College level is a step in that direction.
I have many roles in life but one I most identify with is, Student Athlete. As a student athlete I must work hard both off and on the court. First in order to play on my team I must keep up my grades. I have been able to juggle maintaining a 3.0, playing basketball and holding a job. At times this has been difficult and has required a lot of work but I have really been focused on my goal. In college I look forward to giving my best both on and off the court.
The best thing about playing basketball is being part of a team. I think I could be an asset to any team. I have shown my ability to help motivate my teammates and lead by example both on and off the court. It comes down to hard work.
