Josh Eddy '16 Recruiting Profile

I am the youngest of 9 children and have grown up in a rural community and attend a small school.  Our family is very competitive and have participated in nearly every sport offered at PCS.  My two oldest brothers carried on the family tradition of wrestling for their winter sport. My other two brothers started with wrestling but decided to try basketball. That was a huge change but my parents supported us and encouraged finding extra help to bring us up to speed. We also play football and baseball. Two of my older brothers earned the Senior Athlete Award for our school. My brothers and sisters have all excelled in their chosen sports, academics and extra curricular activities mainly due to the understanding of hard work and commitment.  My goal is to give the most effort possible to anything I do.  My parents have taught me the value of a good work ethic and the role that plays in life.  I go beyond the typical practice and do AAU, Street Jams, and additional workouts in the attempt to improve my skills and be a valuable member of my team. I also have the ability to play different positions on my team.
  In a small school, a player must share the playing time.  I play 60% of the game unless the competitor is strong.  I am then kept in for more time.  I worry that my numbers may not look as impressive as they need to due to the playing time given. I do believe I have the grades, athletic ability, drive, work ethic and moral character to be an asset to any team that will give me the opportunity to participate.  All athletes want to succeed.  What makes me different is that I have been raised to understand that "wanting" and being willing to put in the effort are two different things.  I am willing to put the effort in to make a difference on any team I play for. I also believe that as an athlete, I must hold myself to higher standards in my personal life.  I need to be an example for my nieces and nephews as well as any other person watching.  I uphold the athletic code and the moral lessons my parents have taught me. My goal is to be a leader of  a "goal" driven college basketball team as well as pursue my academics with the same determination and drive.   I won't let you down.
