Personal Statement
I am a rising Senior at Carrboro High School in North Carolina, I play the 3 and 4 positions, and I want nothing more than to play basketball at the intercollegiate level. I am 6'4'' and around 195-200 pounds, but am more athletic and light on my feet than you would think.There was a time when doubted whether college sports were what I really wanted, and then my Junior season ended. I received honors from the coaches (Capt.), from the Conference (2nd Team) and had an overall successful season, averaging just under 10 points a game and 6 rebounds a game. When the year ended, I realized how little time I have left, and that playing in college would give me the chance to grow as an athlete, and a person, as well as provide me the opportunity to travel and bond with a group of peers with a common passion. I am open to any school, and am willing to put in whatever work is necessary to play at the next level as a major contributor. A school that will provide a quality education and work with me to develop my talents as an athlete and qualities as a person would be at the top of my list. I am unsure of what academic pursuit I will take, but my grades are exceptional-my Junior year final weighted GPA is a 4.8 and my inital SAT score was 1880. My ideal school is anywhere in the United States, in any athletic division that has a strong academic and athletic tradition, and is willing to go out on a line for me, because I will do the same for the school and its athletic staff. I want to do so at the next level as well, and will continue to work and challenge myself to get better, even when I don't think I want too. I will do anything to prove myself, and become recognized.
