Personal Statement
I want to use basketball to get a better education than most people. Playing college Basketball was a dream of mine when I was younger. Basketball is everything to me, I want to be in the NBA when I get older and I am going to need the college experience to make me a better overall player. I want to go to college for more educational reasons. If basketball doesn’t work out I still want to be able to get a good job. My backups are Forensics, and meteorology. Education is also a very big part of why I play basketball so I can better my future.
I think I am a very good candidate for a college team because I have very high offensive confidence, and want to be the best at everything I do as far as character, education, basketball, most importantly being a good leader for my siblings as well. I think college will help me achieve that. I also love the game more than a lot of my peers, I have lots of passion for it and need it for the educational purposes. And I have a very good feeling for the game, unlike most people I am very active on the offensive end. I think I can do better than most people my age in getting open for a shot. I pretty much always make the right play. I am a great open court player, the fast break is where I try to get most of my points from. Finishing over bigger defenders is also not a problem for me because I can take body contact. Rebounding is another thing I can do well for my position. I am a good defender too, I try to keep the opponents away from the basket, I am also very good in the passing lanes. Though defending is not my specialty I out hustle a lot of my opponents. I think I also can be a very good leader off and on the court and I am not a trouble maker, Because I want to be someone that represents the school well with basketball, and my academics as well, so younger people can look up to me. I think I will do well as a scorer as well, because I am not afraid of taking the “big” shot, and I also do very well in close game situations.
