Personal Statement
“The true measure of a man is not how he behaves in moments of comfort and convenience but how he stands at times of controversy and challenges.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.
I am a true student-athlete. I have been working hard on and off the court for as long as I can remember, and I take pride in being both a great student and a great athlete. I am a 6'3 "Combo Guard with a 4.3gpa. Although I consistently train hard for basketball, I have also never avoided taking more challenging or advanced classes in school. In many ways, the challenges of these classes help me mentally prepare for the challenges I may face on the court.
I started playing basketball at the age of three, and I have been playing since then. I fell in love with the game back then and it is now a true passion of mine. Outside of regular school ball, I train several times a week and play with Team Rise travel basketball. My main strengths as a basketball player are positioning myself on the floor to make offensive and defensive contributions. I am an accurate and consistent shooter, and I have good basketball IQ. I am a coachable, solid player, and I am determined to be the best player and teammate I can be and position my team to win. One of the things that my parents always say is "what ever you start, you must finish, and whatever you do, do it the best of your ability". I have embraced their words, and I apply them in every area of my life including basketball.
My goal as a student-athlete is to play college basketball at a great school, with a great basketball program and obtain a degree. I am committed to this process and to finishing what I start. I want to play for a program that holds these same values.
