A 6'4 freshman @ Ravenscroft, I am Alex Olander and starting on our Varsity team. We have a 20-game season and are in the NCISAA 4A Conference. This is my fourth year playing for Team Thrill NC and we just became Team Loaded NC and will play on the Adidas 3SSB Gauntlet Circuit to begin in March 2021. While recently representing a NC team in the US Basketball Games in Georgia, I averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds a game. Tenacious on defense, I average 2-3 blocks a game and 3-4 steals in tournaments. I think my intensity and relentlessness on defense sets me apart as a player.
To further develop my skills, I train every day. I participate in as many tournaments as possible to transfer skills to court and improve my basketball IQ. I love the game of basketball.
I work hard academically striving for A's or A+'s in every class. In preparation for the SAT, I do weekly SAT prep. My freshman PSAT score was an 1120. Currently, I am taking three Honors Level classes as a freshman and have a 3.93 thus far this year. My plan is to achieve a 4.0 or higher in this second semester. My goal is to be an Academic All- American. Additionally, I served on our school's Crucial Catch team to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. We raised $37,000 this past fall for ACS and were recognized as the leading fundraising high school team in the country.
My athletic goal is to play for the most competitive basketball school possible and at a college that also offers strong academics. I will contribute an intense competitive edge to a collegiate team, be a leader on the court and work very hard in the classroom. I have high standards for myself in both sports and academics.
Hope you will consider me as a prospect for your program and come see me play in person. Thank you for your consideration.
