2015 HighlightsPersonal Statement
My name is Christian Manna and I'll be a 2017 graduate of the Lawrence Upper School. My goal is to attend a small to medium sized university where I can excel in both academics and basketball. Due to my love sports, fitness and helping others, I intend to major in Health/ Physical Education or a related major. I believe I am great candidate to play collegiate basketball for several reasons. First, I love the game of basketball and my strong work ethic and leadership skills separate me from other players. I am willing to take on challenges and my coaches would say I'm very coachable and a great teammate. I have received all conference academic three years in a row as well as first team all conference for two years and team captain. In addition, I was voted non OSHA top 5 player of the year for 2015-16 and have been a defensive and overall MVP on my varsity team. Outside of basketball, I have a 3.4 GPA and have worked a summer sports camp counselor as well as referee for various sports throughout the year. I am active in various clubs and organizations as well as service learning. I am a committed student and athlete. I have an incredibly strong work ethic which serves me well on an off the basketball court.

- I have a weight and nutrition trainer that I work out with 3 times week.

- I do skill session with the coaches at Hudson High School and Western Reserve Academy on a regular basis here in Hudson Ohio. In addition I participate in their open gym's which take place weekly. Also, I have a trainer that I see at least 3-4 times a week to improve my vertical jump and agility and to get stronger and faster.

- AwardsMade 1st team all conference, won team MVP, two time defensive MVP, I was voted in the Non OHSAA All ohio 1st team, and Academic All-Conference Three years in a row. - ActivitiesDuring this summer I worked as a summer counselor at Orange Youth Sports Camp for 6 weeks. I'm also a flag football referee for grades 1st-4th. That's when I'm not running cross country or playing basketball. I also played the tuba and piano. I also was in a play for my school and participate in Spirit Club, Spanish Club, and History Club, Finally, I do volunteer work at homeless shelters around Summit County Ohio.
