My name is Griffin Straub and I'm a 6'6" small forward at Saint Clairsville High School in Saint Clairsville, Ohio.
I've been playing basketball since I was five years old through recreation leagues, school, and travel / AAU teams. I'm committed to training hard to improve my game in all aspects, physically, and mentally to become the best player I can be. A great example of improving physically would be from March to November of 2023 (Frosh-Soph year) I gained thirty pounds of muscle.
At a recent Prep Hoops event a scout summed up what I bring to the court with the following post: "Liked what I've seen from Griffin Straub of MR22 Elite 16U here at the Queen City Clash. Skilled forward who can play above the rim, stretch the floor and protect the rim. Intriguing long-term upside on this 2026 prospect from St. Clairsville".
I'm a student-athlete with goals that include pursuing my desire to play at the collegiate level and obtaining a college degree. Currently, I want to pursue a doctorate in sports physical therapy like my mother. I believe I can be an asset both in the classroom as well as in your basketball program.

A nifty player who handles well off the dribble. A good catch and shoot player with a stroke. A player that goes hard on all possessions. He anticipates well on defense. Has good handles and will attack you off the dribble. He shows good court vision and awareness. A nice finisher around the basket area. Creates well off the dribble. At times don't get careless with the ball. Add muscle to frame to handle contact better. This player could help someone's program. His potential level could increase in another year with strong development. D2 or NAIA
