The way my parents have treated me and taught me has been the major influence in my life and I couldn't be happier with who they have made me become. I have been interested in basketball for many years now. It has always been a passion of mine to be on the hardwood and to be in that atmosphere. My first experiences with basketball began by playing Upward from kindergarten all the way to 6th grade. From there I went on to play for the school and now playing varsity basketball at my high school. I have learned how to be selfless and do the best I can to try and put our team in the best position every night. It has taught me how to stay confident with myself and my teammates. My high school academic goals are to finish high school with a 3.7 GPA and have an accumulated score of a 27 on my ACT. In the future, my long-term goal is to graduate college and get my degree in Sports Management. The greatest obstacle that I overcame and led me to where I am today taught me a great lesson in determination and perseverance. I got cut from the basketball team my 8th-grade year. I was the only player from the 7th-grade team that was cut. That just fueled my fire. Just the way it changed my outlook on basketball and me as a person was so tremendous. From that point forward I did everything I could to make sure I would not be cut again. I spent all my spare time playing, I got a coach to take private lessons from, and I attended basketball camp. I believe I possess a unique skill of a determination some people do not have. I have learned to see the glass as half full and I personally believe my attitude carries over to the other players.
