Personal Statement
After leading our team to an area qualification for the first time in 15 years, and losing in the first round, I became dedicated to working harder. The lessons I learned and the experience I gained during those games was extraordinary. I learned that heart can take you places you never thought were possible. I have practiced harder on the off season than I ever thought possible. I get in touch with several on the team and we get together to shoot and run drills in the evenings, several days a week, as extra work. I have gone to Jay Bilas skills camp over the past summer to help improve my basketball IQ and to make myself a better teammate. Our record for the current season shows our dedication to the game. Winning MVP at a tournament this season was a great achievement and was a reminder that hard work pays off.
I am wanting to find a college that will give me game time. I am wanting to make an impact on the team. My goal is to go to a college that has physical education as a course of study. I would love to share my love for the game with others as a coach.
My family isn’t wealthy, so financial aid is needed. I would like to study at a college that is a days driving distance from our Northeast Oklahoma home. Being around family is important to me.
