Dustin Melton '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Dustin Melton and i am a 6'5"  175 lb junior from Prue Oklahoma. I have been on the Varsity team for 4 years and starting for 3. I am a team captain and i got 1st team all conference this past season and i am going to play the cherokee conference All star game.I have been playing basketball on a team for 9 years and counting. My speed and strength has progressed alot i have cut two and a half seconds off of my 100 meter dash last year and i can currently finish 100 meters in 12.3 seconds and my goal by the end of the season is 11.8 .

  My motivation is 100% basketball. I have been lifting weights and trying to put on more weight for next season. I play at center for my highschool team but i will try my absolute hardest to continue to get better and play any position a coach wants. I am also known to be a good leader and i am good at setting examples and i will try my heart out to push a team as far as they can go. I have gone to alot of camps through the years incuding one that i was recommended to my eighth grade year. I am ranked sixth in my class out of 19. I believe i must "punish myself to punish my opponets"


I am looking for a college that i can focus on getting a degree in psychology and making a huge impact on the basketball team i am from a small town in Oklahoma and i do not mind going to a bigger college or even a small one. I do not mind traveling far to go to a college as long as i have some financial aid. I will play for almost any college i dont care if it is big or small.
