Personal Statement
I fell in love with the game of basketball at a very young age. Every time I got the ball through the hoop, I had a feeling of accomplishment. I loved it and knew it was something I needed to pursue. Through playing basketball, I learned that I can be a leader on and off the court. I am not afraid to tell my players what they did wrong and will tell them what they need to do the next time. I know that my teammates respect me for that and they truly appreciate the help. I know the game very well and love sharing my expertise with others. I'm a good candidate for a college team because I am a leader on the court and the coach can't be the only leader for the team. It has to come from players as well. I help my team score points, make passes, rebound, play defensively and give advice when needed. My academic goals in high school are to maintain an 80-85% average. I want to make Honor Roll which requires and 80% average throughout my high school career. When I graduate from high school, I want to get an Undergraduate Degree in Kinesiology to become a Sports Physiotherapist. During my younger years of playing basketball, I've always been the smallest guy on the court but I knew that size didn't matter and I was able to overcome this obstacle because I know that my passion and dedication to the game is far more superior than size. A unique characteristic that have is that I am a positive person. I have the ability to make people laugh and help them get through hard times. I try to see the good in all things and I am open to learning anything I can to make me a better person. A skill that I possess is that I can be that player you need to help keep the game in control because I have great ball handling skills and I am a good communicator. Another skill that I have is that I am a multi-dimensional shooter (mid-range, 3 pointers, lay-ups, floaters, etc.) For any coach or scout who reads this, I would like to thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my personal statement. I am truly appreciated.
