I learned to love basektball at a very young age, but never took it seriously until sophomore year. The spring and summer after my sophomore year, my mom would open the gym for me at least 5 nights a week. I used that time to develop my basic skills putting myself through drills and making sure my form and technique on every drill was correct. After about four or five weeks of continuously working in the gym, I began to see improvements playing in pick-up games and scrimmages and I became obsessed being the best I could be.
As far as my style of play goes, I love to get teammates involved and working in unison with everyone from the starters to the last player on the bench. I truly enjoy the feeling of winning games as a team. I understand that I have the skill set to get anywhere I want on the court and create space to get myself a good shot, but I also understand that at the next level, that won't always be the case. So I always try my best to make the right team play. With that being said, I'm always looking to exploit the defense in any way I can. I'm a "pass-first" point guard, but if I see a defensive lapse, I'm always ready to score.
My first goal for college is to get as much financial support as I can while I take time exploring careers I might want to go into. I understood early on that some schools may not give out full athletic scholarships, so I've never let myself have a GPA below 3.5/4.0 for the past 6 years in an attempt to ensure I have as many academic aid and scholarship opportunities as I can. Basketball is a passion of mine and if I could get some, if not all of college paid for by doing something I love, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.
