At a young age, I lost one of the most important people in my life, my grandmother. Shortly after her passing, my Mom put me in sports to help keep me busy. I have been a multi-sport athlete since, but as I grew older, basketball became my passion. I was the kid that nobody thought was good enough, so I worked and not a day goes by that I don’t continue to work as a player, as a teammate and as a friend.
I have a high basketball IQ, continuously studying the game. I am a team leader and try to lead by example on and off the court while encouraging my teammates. I am coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players on the team.
I did not take my academics as serious my first two years of high school. My motto was to “just get by” so I can get back into the gym. I am proud to say that my education means something to me now and I have studied hard and have maintained a high GPA. Outside the classroom and gym, I volunteer in our community and surrounding areas working with those who are younger as a mentor and/or “big brother”. I always strive to be a great role model.
I want to attend a college where not only will I push myself on the court, but also in the classroom. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right match at the highest level of competition as possible.
