Personal Statement

Basketball, and sports in general, are a huge part of my life.  I can’t remember when I didn’t play at least one sport.  I played baseball and football in grade school, football, basketball and volleyball in Junior High and now in my Junior Year of High School, I play volleyball and basketball.  When I’m not at practice or playing in a game or tournament, I spend my time at the YMCA or taking private lessons to enhance my capabilities.

As I shared earlier, I’m a diverse athlete.  I’m particularly proud of being named player of the game in the regional basketball playoffs during my Sophomore Year.  My Sophomore year I made all State 2-A, first team all-conference and first team all section and my Freshman year first team all section and second team all-conference for volleyball.

I’ve been fortunate to have great influences in my life:  my parents, brothers, coaches and extended family.  My aunt and uncle are in the local county sports hall of fame, she for volleyball and him for football.  I’ve been taught from a young age about the importance of integrity and a strong work ethic.

Academics are important.  During my sophomore year, I achieved high honors every semester and perfect attendance.  My academic goal for high school is to finish in the top 10% of my class.   Post high school, I hope to attend a good, solid college and major in a technology, science or medical field.

I strongly believe I have the framework to be a great student athlete.  I understand the commitment it takes to play at the college level having watched my brother play Division 1 volleyball.  My years of competing have taught me confidence is key, to never give up and to always believe in me and my team.  I have a very positive mindset and a genuine concern for my team members.  I am looking forward to an opportunity to play basketball at the n

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
