Personal Statement
My name is Christopher Barrish, and I appreciate you taking the time to read this. I am a junior in high school, and my desire is to play collegiate basketball at the highest possible level. My ultimate goal is to be a basketball coach after I graduate. I have had the opportunity of playing organized basketball since 4th grade. I have played both in school and in an AAU program. I was fortunate to play with and against some very high level basketball players in the mid-atlantic region, and I believe this has helped me to compete at a higher level and learn and understand the game of basketball. I worked up to being a starter on my high school team by the end of my freshman season, and was a 1st team all-conference player as a sophomore. The only reason any of these things could have happened is because of my hard work on the court and in the weight room. While basketball is my main focus, I also play on my high school golf and baseball teams. In addition to my athletic achievements, I have worked hard in the classroom. I currently have a 4.0 GPA , and I am a member of the National Honor Society. I try to be a good leader on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. I am a mentor in the Big Brother/Big Sister program and also very involved with our local food bank.
I believe I would be an asset to your basketball program because I am an unselfish player who is able to be a leader on and off the court. I am not afraid to work hard and put in the time and do whatever it takes to make the team better.
