Alec Thurau '12 Recruiting Profile

My goal from this summer throughout my senior year of basketball is to be able to be well-known around the area for being a good basketball player. My true goal is to play college basketball because I don't see myself leaving the game of basketball after next year. I am a short but very quick guard who likes to play a fast paced game. Throughout my three years of high school basketball, I haven't had a lot of opportunities to show my potential because of teammates but I believe I can really show my skill my senior year of high school. I was a team captain for JV my freshman year and a varsity starter my sophomore and junior years. I am usually the last one to leave the court because I know I need to put the time in to be the best player I can be. I would like to go to school close to where I live so my parents would be able to come see me. I am looking for a well-known school that is good in academics as well as athletics. My career options are trying to have some kind of sports career. It has ranged from trainer to something with exercise science. My biggest goal to have if I get to play college basketball is to: Make an impact on my team and show everyone who is watching in the stands that I can play. I would love to play D1 but the chances are slim because of my height. I just hope I will become the player I want to be and I will be able to fulfill my dream.
