Tyrone 'TJ' Woods '20 Recruiting Profile

My love for basketball began around the age of four when I tagged along with my brother to all of his games and watched him play. My passion for the game has continued to grow over the years, as I enjoy competing with and challenging others. I especially love to play against and compete with my brothers; being older than I am, they help elevate my game.

I feel as a player, in addition to my own personal basketball skills and knowledge of the game, I bring leadership and enthusiasm to the team. My energy is unmatched on the court, and I am very exuberant in my support of my teammates.

My grandfather, who passed away in 2015, is one of the motivating forces in my life. Entrepreneurial in nature, he ran his own car sales business, owned rental properties, and retired from his job of 30 years, all while being married to my grandmother for over 40 years.  I know that if I work hard and adopt a “never-quit” attitude, I can achieve greatness.

My plan is to graduate from high school in the top 20% of my class and obtain a basketball scholarship, with the ultimate goal of earning a bachelor’s degree.
