Personal Statement
I have always enjoyed basketball and have been shooting baskets from the time I could walk and throw my toy balls into a waste basket. At three years old, I began playing organized basketball, and it has been at the center of my life ever since. This fall, I will be a high school senior varsity player at Benbrook.
In college, my goal is to contribute to a basketball team that is also a second family for all of the players and coaching staff. My coaches and teammates know and will always know they can depend on me. I am a team player. My strengths are: good communication skills, being self-motivated to get better on the court every day, my height, and being equally good at playing in the paint and outside as a guard. Past positions played are forward, guard, and center. Preferred positions are power forward and small forward.
Having a strong work ethic in basketball and academics is important. Currently, I am enrolled in honors and AP classes. Basketball is one of the main motivating factors for me to push myself to learn both in and out of school. I hope to attend a college which will help take my basketball skills to the next level, as well as one which has a strong academic program for my future professional life.
